«Mavpy» were born in Cherkasy» - is the title of the documentary film about the basketball team «Cherkaski Mavpy» - producer Maksym Bernadkyi, author of the idea, script the journalist Juriy Lukanov. In the film is spoken about the aspiration of the team for fighting for the gold medals of the Ukrainian championship 2006 – 2007. This aim was sounded by the president of the club Sergyi Odarych.
The authors decided to shoot the documentary film about «Mavpy», because it’s the sports and the social phenomena. The team impressed with the creation on the nude place thanks to the initiative of the enthusiasts group, it passed year after year all the leagues of the Ukrainian championship and also fought for the bronze medals in the first year of it’s staying in super league.
The social mean of В«Cherkaski MavpyВ» is that around it is created the special structure and atmosphere. The guidance of the club takes care of creation in the whole region the youth basketball sections. Except this it were made a lot of efforts for the propagation of the basketball in the region, and thanks to that, many inhabitants of the region are interested in this kind of sports. The organizers of В«MavpyВ» hope for creation of the own school of basketball and to end the practice in invitation of legionary.
The film consists of 4 novels, which elucidated the main moments of the creation and existence of «Cherkaski Mavpy». They are devoted to the American legionary Charles Gosa; of the young, talanted basketball player Vlad Trenihin, who is the pupil of the club; to the main coach Andriy Podkovyrov, who played in the champions complement of Kyjiver «Budivelnik»; about the president of the club Sergiy Odarych, who supports the idea of the team’s creation.
В«MavpyВ» was born in CherkasyВ» is the second common documentary film of Maksym Bernadskyi and Yuriy Lukanov. Earlier they shouted the film В«who are you, Mister Jecky?В» - about the history of relations of the Ukrainian decedent journalist Valeriy Marchenko and the Holland student Jecky Backs. For this film the authors got the price from the Ukrainian league of journalists.
On the 6th of December 2006 in the air of the region state broadcast-radio company “Rosj” is transmitted the film «Mavpy» were born in Cherkasy».
