Cherkaser region Federation of basketball has elected the new president

Today it was hold the opened accounting-electing conference of the Cherkaser region federation of basketball. The participants of the conference adopted the new statute of the Federation, the complement of the Federation and the working plan of the Region federation of basketball for the season 2007/2008. Pogostinskyi Kyrylo has been elected as the president of the Cherkaser region federation of basketball.
Tamkov V.P., ex-president of ChRFB: «Now we decided to have the meeting with the aim of reelecting of the guidance, to which the persons must be elected, who directly have been developing basketball in our region. For three years of the existence the team has given push for developing of basketball. For three years the collective “Cherkaski Mavpy” came up from the first league to the highest division, now playing in the super league.
The huge work during team’s existence has been lead among the children and youth – carrying out of the children’s and youth championships. Today we have already 34 basketball sections in Cherkasy and 8 in the region. In 2006-2007 on the Ukrainian youth competitions Cherkaser was represented by three teams of 1990, 1992 and 1994 years. In the season 2007-2008 the combined teams of 1995-96 will play on the international court».
Pogostinkyi Kyrylo, president of ChRFB: «The main aim of the region federation’s of basketball is the development of the children basketball in our region. The region Federation became such collective which will make maximum efforts for development of this direction. Now we have only one player from Cherkasy in the teams of the major and super league. So, the team “Cherkaski Mavpy” is the pivot, around which must the children basketball be grown».
