Ukrainian derby with European shade

For the first time two basketball clubs from Ukraine – “Cherkaski Mavpy” and “Dnipro” (Dnipropetrosk) meet in the Euro Cup Challenge match. The first match of 1/4 final of Euro Cup Challenge, in which Cherkaser team plays on home court with BC “Dnipro” on the 11th of January, will be the continuation of one of the irreconcilable opposing of the Ukrainian championship.
In the season 2005/2006 “Dnipro” comes out to play-off for that time debutant of Super league – “Cherkaski Mavpy”. In the regular championship “Cherkaski Mavpy” gave in twice to Dnipropetrover. On away match with the score – 91:89, at home – 88:95. In the first game of the quarterfinal the Dnipropetrover were stronger again – 82:73. The summary victory and the going out to the next stage play-off were for Cherkaser. At first “Mavpy” leveled the score at home in the series, won the match with “Dnipro” – 86:80 (1:1), and then on away match got the universal victory – 79:90 (1:2).
“Mavpy” has already met with Dnipropetrovsk in the season 2006/07. On the first round of the regular championship “Mavpy” lost Dnipropetrover – 73:63.
