Women basketball in Cherkasy

Today took place the game between the teams “Marelj-Cherkasy” - “Mykolajiv NUK” in sport palace “Budivelnik” 104:90 (30:22, 23:27, 28:19, 23:22).   Cherkaser were today the masters not only of their playing court, but also of game in general. From the very beginning of the match the girls had advantage in the score. But today’s game showed also disadvantages in defense of “Marelj”. The girls lost attention and Mykolajiv began to overtake our players very fast. But in the second half of the game “Marelj” began to play better and the match ended with the score 104:90 in our favor. Alla Bykova (coach of “Marelj-Cherkasy”): “I not fully satisfied with the game. Today the team didn’t’t fulfilled the tasks. The defense couldn’t’t keep the opponent’s players. It had impact on the results of the game.  If the team fulfilled the tasks, the difference in the score could be bigger nearly 30 points. But we can say that’s today’s game was our game.”   Denys Rozdobudjko (coach of “Mykolajiv NUK”): “Today we played bad. The team didn’t fulfill the tasks. The physical tiredness was one of the reasons of defeat. 7 girls play in the team for major league. We spent almost 2 weeks for away games. The girls are tired. But I can say that all games are useful for the team, because on this stage we just learn to play basketball”. The most effective players of "Marelj-Cherkasy" were in today’s match:  Bykova (27 + 9 picking up, 30 assists), Ostapenko (29+ 9 picking up), Lytvynenko (23 + 12 picking up), Parhomenko (11).
