"Mavpy" are in the present season so strong, aggressive and in result can be the potential future participants of semi final, why not the final?!
Soon we celebrate New Year and Christmas. Somebody may think that all clubs without exception have a rest and the players, coaches search for present are wrong.
The first round of Euro Cup Challenge ended, and on the market appeared the players from the clubs-losers – an excellent opportunity to complete in this or that position. Somebody is busy with more global tasks – is looking for the coach. But we’ll speak not about theoretical questions, but what we have on practice for the last three months.
The fight in super league that we have this year is very interesting. The distance between the groups is short. Four leaders are situated so, that “Khimik”, who takes the fourth position theoretical, can be on the first position for two tours. The team from Juzhne started in super league not good and is in the middle of the table. Partly the difficulties are connected with the mistakes in the club’s selection; it is planed to take to the team Sasha Bratich, who had the acting contract with Israel club.
The situation of “Khimik” became better when they invited the third number Sedrik Handerson. The leader of the team Waikin Kelli, got good support from the side, lead the partners and it was hard for its rival to stop this team with their traditional accent on defense, even for the champion of country “Azovmash”.
The presence of “Khimik” in the fourth of the best Ukrainian teams was prognosed, as the presence of “Cherkaski Mavpy”. But who knows that “Mavpy” will be so strong, aggressive in the present season and as result are the potential future participants of the semifinal or even final?
The doubtless trump of the team is its main coach Andriy Podkovyrov, who composed the strong team.
The loudest sensation of the present first place belongs to “Mavpy” when they won in away game playing with “Azovmash”. If Johnson and Kazlauskas could have more fortune, the representatives of Cherkasy could be now on the first place in the tournament table. But the “wolves” managed to be ahead and to be the leader. “Mavpy” by the way has one of the most balanced complements of super league and can make changes of equal value during the game. "Azovmash" disappointed at first. The club’s selection didn’t bring the waited results, and from the two from three before season new players – Mackoy and Radulovych went away. The team was weak and El Amin especially.
"Azovmash" increased temp slowly, but sure and did minimum tasks – it guaranteed the place in the next round of Euro Cup and didn’t let rivals to go ahead in the Ukrainian championship.
If we unite all possible results of the clubs, mariupoler left behind and BK “Kyjiv” and "Khimik", that didn’t win in Euro cup. The advantage that “wolves” has in super league means not many, because till the final competitions in the Ukrainian championship it’s too far and the international hopes they have already lost.
BK “Kyjiv” began to say good-bye to the basketball players that didn’t correspond to the requests of the club. Free agents are now Leonid Jajlo and Dmytro Djatlovskyi.
The team from “Sumy” asserted their rights successfully and left behind such opponents as “mykolajiv” and “Dnipro”. Therefore, when we look on the calendar of the second round, the saving up of the position for "Sumyhimprom" will be problem.
“Odesa” lost a lot of on the start of the championship, but getting financial stabilization, they went ahead, and may be not only for the eighth place. About "Mykolajiv", that began excellent, got lost after the tour in USA, but try to do its best.
I happened so, that eight clubs are behind and may be they will exactly they will come to play off.
With all respect to “Budivelnik” and “Kryvbasbasket” these teams play not so stabil as the above mentioned clubs. Three outsiders didn’t’t change last years, may be “Lvivska Politechnika” won’t be among them. Soon the new main coach is fixed and may be the results will be better. Though now the president of Lviver Igor Savycjkyj speaks now that the season is failure and club begins to work for future success.
There no doubts that the present super league will be one of the most interesting in the history of Ukrainian basketball.
